This is a rather eerie song, so low-key and the vocals are just getting better all the time, Crystal. You have a lot more confidence and it shows. And really, we don't need to go into how nice that sounds. OKAY! It sounds great, but this one just gives me an ominous feeling in the pit of my stomach. So I you did a great job... and I'm so now... A for sure.

Wow!!! A fantastic beautifully crafted tune. The rich acoustic ambience is totally mesmerizing. Vocals are quite expressive and the melody compliments the wonderful guitar chords perfectly. Very impressive sound quality and production. Excellent work!

Coolio Those opening arpeggios sound so dark and the dischordant feel really puts you on edge, like a boogeyman is gonna jump out and knife you in the skull.
The vocals really compliment the music. Love it. It's simplicity is genius. Great sounds

the guitar line is just a beautiful work of art in itself complex, yet simple in all the right ways.. it sets an excellent atmosphere to compliment the lyrics perfectly.. the lyrics themselves stand as an intriguingly multi-layered work as well.. the theme of the poetry at first glance is of trudging along, numb to the world.. but the last stanza,
"My heart is an empty hole
Drowning in the blackness of my soul
I cry alone here in the dark
But I make no sound..."
kind of throws that on it's end.. giving a sort of dark irony to the line "nothing you can do to keep me down.." .. it seems to convey a different message at the end than it did through most of the track.. a very clever turn. the vocals add yet another layer to the depth of the piece. there's a few spots where the vocals seem a bit hesitant, but it works in a strange way.. like there's more melody in there than you'd notice on the first listen.. feels like you were walking a tight line between a melody that would have been almost too musical for the piece, and a subdued, almost montone delivery.. it gives the piece a kind of constrained, uneasy feeling that when fits in so perfectly with the feeling of the music and the imagery of the lyrics. musically, vocally, lyrically.. this is really beautiful.. the things that it's missing that most people probably would have put in (i.e. more instrumental tracks, percussion, varying vocal effects, etc..) seem as much a part of the overall composition as parts that are there.. lol.. I know I'm talking in circles, but I meant that song's greatness has as much to do with what's not there as it does with what is. this is a perfect example of why I shouldn't comment on music when I'm this tired, lol.. seriously though.. the piece is very artistic on all levels. It showcases the depth you both have and just how much of yourselves you can pour into your music. A very beautiful achievement here indeed.

Whoa that acoustic sounds wicked right off the bat. * stifles obvious "pink acoustic" question *

Anyway that sounds way cool indeed.
Excellent lyrics, perfect with that apprehensive pluckin' sound, yep.

First of all, I love the lyrics. There is greatness to them. And that guitar sure is a pretty thing to listen too, almost forget how ominous this song really sounds with that lovely acoustic. And I like the change in Crystal's vocals this time. A bit different singing style this time around. Of course, this whole song is different from what I'm used to hearing over here, but I love it

Reminds me of being stranded in the desert...Very bleak! But, this has a positive message - one of strength & determination. As always, your production is flawless (wish I could sound as clear). Bill's guitar sounds great & your vocals are right on & full of emotion. Beautifully done!
